Tokyopop Promotes Lena Atanassova to Editor in Chief
Former Brand Editor for LoveLove imprint will manage editorial acquisition, production and lead the expansion and continued diversity of TOKYOPOP's publishing programs
Los Angeles, CA – Publisher TOKYOPOP has announced that it has promoted Lena Atanassova to Editor in Chief. She ed TOKYOPOP in 2018 and most recently held the position of Brand Editor for TOKYOPOP's all-inclusive imprint LoveLove. Under her leadership, LoveLove's catalog has grown to over 100 titles, bringing a diverse range of romance content to fans across the globe.
In her expanded role, Atanassova will lead the TOKYOPOP editorial team, managing production of all TOKYOPOP titles, including manga, light novels, graphic novels and further expand the brand's catato burgeoning genres such as horror, Ubisoft and others.
Atanassova played a pivotal role in conceiving and launching TOKYOPOP's LoveLove imprint in 2020. Under her oversight, the LoveLove line made diversity and inclusivity central themes with titles focusing on straight and LGBTQ+ stories that reflect the enduring popularity of the romance category. To-date, LoveLove has published an expansive line of Boys Love manga and graphic novel titles by Asian and Western creators.
