The anime studio program last year; no grand prizes were given in any category.
The comedian coined the term "chū-2 byō" (literally, "middle-school second-grade disease") for adolescent thoughts that teenagers commonly have — especially delusions of grandeur or the belief that one is special compared to everyone else.
In the novel, Yūta Togashi, a boy who used to suffer from "chū-2 byō," and Rikka Shichimiya a.k.a. "Sophia Ring SP Saturn VII," a friend from middle school and the one suffering the most from "chū-2 byō," appears and turns Togashi's life upside down. And so, a battle between "Saturn" and "Jaō Shingan" (True Eye of the Devil King) begins.
Kyoto Animation itself began publishing the novel series with illustrations by studio animator Nozomi Ousaka in May, and the second volume is shipping on Wednesday.
