WIT Studio Reports Large Increase in Sales, But 2 Sister Studios Report Net Loss

IG Port, the parent company of animation studios Mag Garden, released its report for its previous fiscal year (June 1, 2017 to May 31 2018) on August 29.
IG Port reported consolidated sales of 8.426 billion yen ($75.48 million, an 11% increase from last year), and a net profit of 201 million yen ($1.80 million, a 29.5% decrease).
Although it reported losses last year, Wit Studio (After the Rain) reported a dramatic 60% increase in sales compared to last year, amounting to 1.494 billion yen ($13.4 million). It also reported an ordinary income of 59 million yen ($529,212), and a net profit of 31 million yen ($278,062).
Publishing arm Mag Garden (Monthly Comic Avarus) reported a profit, with sales of 1.922 billion yen ($17.24 million, an 11.9% increase from last year), an ordinary income of 391 million yen ($3.50 million, a 16.4% increase), and a net income of 245 million yen ($2.19 million, a 16.1% increase).
Production I.G (FLCL Progressive) reported sales of 3.098 billion yen ($27.79 million, a 35.6% increase from last year). However, the company also reported an ordinary income of 54 million yen ($484,160), a decrease from last year's 223 million yen ($2.04 million at the time). It also reported a net loss of 46 million yen ($412,300), a decrease from last year's net income of 160 million yen ($1.46 million).
XEBEC (Clockwork Planet) reported slightly increased sales of 1.934 billion yen ($17.35 million), an ordinary loss of 162 million yen ($1.45 million), and a net loss of 127 million yen ($1.14 million).
