TAISHO x ALICE Otome Game Visual Novel Gets New Localization

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
New English, Chinese localization of "episode 1" on PC via Steam on November 28

Translator Steam on November 28. (The game's Steam page lists the game's Japanese publisher Production Pencil as the publisher.) The game will have both English and Chinese localization options with Japanese audio.

E2 Gaming previously released the game's first episode with an English localization in May 2017, but the release is notorious for its localization errors and some parts (such as menus) that were not localized at all.

Primula released three episodes of the game, as well as an epilogue, in February, May, August, and December of 2015, respectively. A Nintendo Switch version shipped in July earlier this year.

The game's Steam page describes the game:

Once upon a time, in a topsy-turvy world...

In the beginning, you find yourself lost within a world of utter darkness. Your memories are gone; even your name is a mystery.

But just when the bitter loneliness threatens to break your spirit, you meet Alice—a blond-haired, blue-eyed young man who promptly christens you "Arisu."

Like you, Alice cannot anything beyond his own name. Ignoring his protests, you drag him along with you through the darkness... until you happen upon a massive mirror made of crystal.

You stumble through the glass and into the Looking-Glass World, an antiquated fairytale dreamscape that feels oddly familiar...

There, amid a colorful cast of gender-swapped fairytale characters, you take on the role of the heroine and them in their twisted tales.

How will the story end? It's up to you!
